Roche Carolina offers Co-ops and
Internships to approximately ten (10) students a year from a variety of
institutions throughout the Southeast, such as Clemson, the University of
South Carolina, Georgia Tech, North Carolina State University and Coker
College.
A Co-op or Intern at Roche Carolina will move from the classroom to the
front line in the fight against disease. He or she will be given the
opportunity to become immersed in the world of science and business. Our
company develops students considering careers in our industry personally and
professionally while they learn about the pharmaceutical industry and the
world of healthcare and carry out challenging projects and assignments.
During your assignment, you will be paired with a mentor to not only assist you
with your projects, but also to answer your questions about chemistry,
engineering and the pharmaceutical industry. You will have an opportunity to
interact with our Leadership Team and present them with a summary of your
work at the end of your assignment.
Our Co-op programs are concentrated in two areas: the first is for Chemical
Engineering majors who will rotate through the Manufacturing Facility, the
Pilot Plant and the Pharma Tech Center; the second is for Mechanical
Engineers who will rotate in our Maintenance and Engineering Departments.
For students who prefer to work only during the summer, our Internship
program offers students in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and related
majors the opportunity to work in our Analytical Development, Chemical
Development, Quality Control and In-Process Control labs.
Qualified candidates for our programs are motivated to learn, willing to
work hard and possess strong teamwork and communication skills. Applicants
must have a minimum overall grade point average of 3.0. Generally, Interns
are rising juniors or seniors, while Co-ops are generally rising sophomores
or juniors.
