Safety is a primary focus of
operations. We are committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for
all workers.
Health and Safety control processes are basic
standards upon which all operations are built. Safe working practices and
programs are deeply woven into our daily activities. These programs have
resulted in numerous milestones and awards, including reaching over
3,000,000 man-hours without a lost time accident and receiving recognition
from Roche’s Corporate Safety and Health group for top performance in safety
among the Roche sites worldwide. More importantly, our employees know that
they are our most valuable asset, and their safety is our priority.
To support our programs, Roche Carolina
maintains a staff of two full-time safety and industrial hygiene
professionals who work with all employees in a continuous process to improve
the safety program through process safety management, shared leadership,
instruction, training, education and self-evaluation. Additionally,
many of our employees serve on the Roche Carolina fire brigade, the
hazardous materials team and the confined-space entry team to further
protect the safety of their fellow employees. |
