Roche Carolina’s Commitment to Safety & Environmental
Stewardship
Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) awareness and practices are critical
and essential components of all activities conducted at our Site. Our
objective is to provide all personnel with EH&S standards and guidelines to
ensure a |
|
safe
working environment and to take appropriate preventive and corrective
measures to eliminate, mitigate or reduce actions or conditions that could
impact the environment or the safety and health of employees or the public.
We comply with all applicable governmental EH&S regulations and Roche Group
Directives. Roche Carolina Management treats safety, health and
environmental matters with the same sense of responsibility, and just as
methodically, as issues concerning quality, production and cost efficiency
Our Management believes that the principles of risk management apply to all
areas of EH&S. If a risk is deemed unacceptable even after implementation of
the best technical and personnel measures, the materials or processes
concerned must be replaced or discontinued.
At Roche Carolina, prevention is the key element for all activities,
discussion and measures aimed at ensuring safety, health and environmental
protection. Our Management is committed to the Roche Group principles of
Sustainable Development and Responsible Care, including robust pollution
prevention, waste minimization and energy conservation programs, and the
open communication of these efforts to employees and the public. All
operations will be conducted and all processes will be developed and
produced in a manner consistent with integrated process optimization
regarding environmental impacts and with priority on inherent safety.
EH&S responsibilities rest with each employee. At Roche Carolina, all
employees are responsible for adhering to EH&S policies to the full extent
required by their duties.
This includes conducting activities and maintaining work areas in a manner
consistent with EH&S standards and procedures, taking an active part in
protecting themselves and their co-workers, actively participating in the
EH&S program and reporting incidents immediately to ensure appropriate
action is taken. |
